USGBC-NCC Diablo East Bay and IFMA East Bay Present:
High Performance Green Cleaning Programs
The objective for this program is to educate the audience about High Performance Green Cleaning Programs and the benefits to Indoor Environmental Quality as it relates to the LEED rating system.
Michael McGee will discuss the role of Green Cleaning in LEED certification and the strategies for earning LEED points by implementing Green Cleaning Programs and Policies in the built environment.
Learning Objectives:
- Review and understand the intentions and required elements for a successful Green Cleaning Policy.
- Highlight key criteria for designing and implementing a High Performance Cleaning Program as it pertains to IEQc 3.1
- Identify concepts of the Custodial Effectiveness Assessment and establish audit procedures, objectivity, and accuracy en route to earning IEQc 3.2
- Determine the requirements of purchasing sustainable cleaning products along with benefits involving environmental and economic issues
- Understand how to recognize sustainable cleaning equipment and the requirements of IEQc 3.4
- Have a broad understanding of industry leading green cleaning systems
1.5 LEED CE Hours in the “Improvements to the Indoor Environment” Category - Pending Approval
Based on your Continuing education maintenance requirements, attendance may be applicable toward renewal requirements for IFMA CFM® certification.
Presenter:
Michael McGee, LEED® AP O+M
Director of Sustainability for ABLE SERVICES where he directs the creation and implementation of goals and initiatives related to the GreenAble™ high performance cleaning program along with sustainability efforts of all Able operations. He served as Chair Energy and Sustainability Committee for BOMA San Diego, which he created in order to work together with other BOMA members to promote sustainability initiatives for area Building Owners and Managers. Michael is a LEED AP O+M, He has a BA in Liberal Arts from Colorado State University.
